The New AHCA 1823 Form
Wow, we have a new form! I’m excited, aren’t you?
Recently The Agency For Health Care Administration released its latest and greatest update to the AHCA 1823 form. Visit https://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-09170 to see it yourself.
The 1823 form has been through several evolutions in recent years and this time around they are making things a little bit easier.
Remember when the form was one page back and front? While this may seem like a great way to save on paper, the form left a lot more room for error. Not only would people forget to print both sides, they would often overlook the back-side of the form as well. It appeared that AHCA’s solution was to then move to a form with several pages, however, this increased the paperwork of the health care providers, which many were not happy about.
But no more worries…
The headaches of those previous forms have been resolved and the debate about which form to use is no longer necessary. The 2010 and 2013 forms have since been retired and we now have the updated form dated “March 2017” which has consolidated data from both the 2013 and 2010 forms. We think this was the right choice.
